Press Release: Superbike vs Supercar Event

We held an exceptionally successful 'Superbike VS Supercar' event during May 2023 at Gloucestershire Airport, where alongside Graypaul Ferrari Birmingham and Beards of Cheltenham and our 200 strong VIP guest list, we collectively raised £4,260.51 for local charity fly2help whilst celebrating the recent reopening of Runway 09/27.
Our VIP's enjoyed a delicious buffet and a participated in a silent auction while ACU licenced riders, including our fantastic BSB racers Leon Haslam, James and Eugene McManus Jr and Charlie Nesbitt along with Ferrari Approved Drivers put some of the best high-performance vehicles through their paces throughout the day. There were some amazing prizes up for grabs, which included: VIP BSB Hospitality passes donated by Completely Motorbikes, choice of Maserati to take home for the weekend and VIP Hospitality Tickets For the Ferrari Challenge Series at Silverstone courtesy of Graypaul Ferrari Birmingham, Tag Heuer watch worth £2,500 thanks to Beards Cheltenham, 2-hour simulator flight with SimAir 737, 6-mile helicopter ride with Northumbia Helicopters, £50 Transair Gift Voucher and a tailor-made 2-piece suit worth over £2,500 thanks to Richard George Tailoring. The silent auction proceeds went entirely to the Gloucestershire Airport based charity fly2help, who are dedicated to changing lives through the power and wonder of flight. The money raised during this event will be used to fund the fly2help Air Smiles Days for families in the local community who are facing challenges in their life such as terminal illness, bereavement, long term disabilities, isolation or loneliness.
These days are for families and individuals of all ages, and they spend a special day at Gloucestershire Airport experiencing all the excitement of aviation with a short flight in a helicopter or light aircraft, exclusive behind the scenes access to the Hangars, meet the firecrew and have a go at being a pilot in the fly2help flight simulator. The day is rounded off with a buffet lunch at the Aviator Inn with fun and games with fly2help mascot ‘Douglas Bear’ and they all take home a goody bag. A photographer joins them on the day, and they compile a special memory book for the family to keep reliving their exciting day through lifelong memories made.
The charity keeps in touch with everyone who donates and lets them know exactly what their donation has funded, with mention made in the photo book of the donors to thank them for helping make this special day possible.
