Revo ACU British Motocross Championship

Round 6 - SchoolHouse, Consett

02.07.2023

The penultimate round of the Revo British Championship 2023.

Race 1

The gate drops and James hits the first turn in 5th, however a downed rider wipes James out and sets him in last place. Louie comes around after lap one in P17, well in the points, however disaster strikes at the midway point with gearbox issues making him have to nurse his bike home and take him out of Moto 2.

James kept plugging away for the whole moto, but being in no mans land with no one to chase made his first race back far from ideal going P22.

Race 2

The gate drops for Moto 2 and again James is in amongst it. He comes around after one full lap in P15 battling with some good seasoned riders for the majority of the race. For myself I was intrigued to see how his fitness would withstand to the 30 minute Moto's and I was pleasantly surprised with his stamina, grit and determination to see the race out in P16 for POINTS yes you read that right POINTS. As always thank you to our sponsors, and anyone that helps us go racing we in week out, we appreciate you all.

Round 5 - Hawkstone, Shropshire

18.06.2023

Sunday took the team to the famous Shropshire sands of Hawkstone park, one of the most iconic tracks in the UK.

Race 1

Louie was riding well but by lap six you could see his lap times drop and he looked tired, unfortunately the demanding track got the better of him and he lost between 8-10 seconds a lap. Obviously myself and Jamie were disappointed with the end result (24th) as we feel that was his chance to score points, but he worked hard and just needed more in the tank.

Race 2

Disaster strikes immediately with a down rider in the first turn and Louie having no where to go, he started at the back!

He gets to work straight away pounding through the laps. He made great progress most of the race, but working from the back took its toll on Louie. He still managed to go P22, but again missing those Championship points we are eagerly chasing.

Round 4 - Blaxhall, Suffolk

28.05.2023

Blaxhall sand bites back!

Coming into round 5 the team had high hopes for both riders, after several bikes changes he past few weeks and making big improvements in their riding.

The boys were first on track and were greeted with a perfect circuit. Both Luke and Louie set their fastest times on lap 1, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for a good gate pick come Moto - with them going P27, P28. After speaking with both the lads they both enjoyed the track and said they felt faster.

Race 1

The gate drops for Moto 1 and Louie gets out to a flyer with Luke about 5 spots behind, Luke has a good charge in the first few laps making up a few spots and is riding a good race. At lap 4 he starts to lose time and by lap 10 he is completely off the pace suffering with arm pump, coming home in P29.

Louie was riding solid until he drops it on lap 3 which gave him work to do. He remounted his bike in P27 and starts charging eventually coming home in P24.

Race 2

Louie gets out to another good start and is battling hard from the get go, he rode out of his skin and really showed great grit and determination which is all you can really ask for. He was in the points for most of the race but the last 5-10 mins stamina kicked in and with the heat and the first race charge he ran out of steam but still gritted his teeth for P21.

Luke had a big struggle in moto 2 and openly said “no excuses I just didn’t have the pace” which was a shame as yes he struggled in Moto 1 but was still better than previous events. Going forward is going to be hard for Luke, we’re all trying our best to get him where he needs to be and hopefully we can find a solution to his dreaded arm pump.

Thank you as always to our amazing sponsors who keep us on track week in week out and a little mention to my partner in crime Jamie Smith who has been doing a mega job this year with the bikes and has really been up against it at times but has been smashing it.

Tune in for the next round - at monster mountain!

Round 3 - Lyng, Norwich

24.04.2023

The sun was shinning the Skys were blue, what more could you ask for.
Walking the track Saturday evening with Luke, it soon become apparent this was going to be a physically demanding track. With many drops off to flat landings and ultra soft dirt, it was going to rut up and getting rougher as the day progressed.

Race 1

Race one got underway but with a bad start on lap one with Louie’s fork bushes failing, making his bike very hard to ride and having to nurse the race from lap one giving him P30.

Luke had another day on the struggle bus due to his current suspension issues and finding a correct setting, arm pump set in from lap four and he basically had to survive the rest of the race giving him P32.

Race 2

The heavens opened for race two giving the riders the task of poor vision and conditions.

The race started okay for Louie but was then taken out by another rider during lap one. Coming from the back is always hard and in wet conditions it’s even worse. He kept plugging away for the whole race and eventually came home in P27.

Luke had another hard race - He rode his butt off and tried to salvage what he could but it just isn’t what he or the team wanted.

The team are hoping to get some good test time in, ahead of the Foxhill round.

Round 1 - Oakhanger, Bordon

18.03.2023

The weather didn't seem to be on anybody's side at this round of the championship. Early observations of the track on Saturday morning made for grim viewing. But never the less, the team were ready for action. Alfie Smith and Justin Barclay did a fantastic job carving a track through the trees

Out first on track were the MX1 riders Luke and Louie, and it didn’t really go to plan. Both Luke and Louie had never seen a track quite like this before - Louie eventually came home in P24 and Luke P27.

Race 1

Luke and Louie had terrible a disappointing start as the gate dropped and both  jumps and got pinched almost immediately. With poor visibility in the mix, the once hard race was now much harder.

Louie charged and started made some moves right from the off. Passing through the pack, he brought it home in P20.

Luke struggled with his injury from Hawkstone International, and riding through the pain barrier, hebrought home P23.

Race 2

Plagued by bad starts, the guys had a lot of work to do heading into lap one of race two.

Luke and Louis were consistent in their lap times, always ended up close to each other and both ticking off the laps within a few seconds of each other.

Disaster struck for Louie on Lap 6. He went down very hard, twisting the bike and leaving him pretty shaken up. But in typical fashion, he got up and soldiered on even with a bent bike, eventually bringing home P23.

Luke was in pure salvage mode and rode smart to get it home safe, a track he was happy to see the back of - he came home on P22.

Round 1 - Oakhanger, Bordon

27.03.2023

The team were keen to improve on their recent visit Oakhanger earlier this month, but conditions had infact become much worse and the track was described as a 'swamp'.

Heavy over night rain which was continued all morning, the team knew they had another hard day ahead of them before they had begun.

Eventually the team were able to qualify after a delay start due to the heavy rain and they rode extremeyl well given the conditions.

Luke got his fastest lap in on the latter stages of qualifying, giving him P25.
Louie got going straight away setting his fastest lap on lap 1, giving him P27.

Race 1

The gate drops for race one and both get a good jump but Louie goes down at turnb 2 and Luke hits a fallen rider, causing both riders to start from the back of the pack. They both get going pretty quickly, however Luke struggled for his P28, Louie had much of the same and struggled to adapt to the conditions bringing home P27.

Race 2

Unfortunately the conditions got the better of the team once more. Louie came around the first lap in P23, which was where he stayed for the remainder of the race.

Luke however had a few more issues to deal with bike set up was killing his progress today and then a bike malfunction gave him a DNF.

Overall a day to forget! But regardless of the outcomes of the Oakhanger rounds, the team are ready to continue to dig deep for the next rounds. We move forwards!
